UET – European University of Tirana

UET is a leading private higher education institution in Albania offering quality teaching and research in various social science disciplines and established in full compliance with the requirements and criteria of the Bologna Charter. Over 150 Inter-Institutional Agreements have been signed with partner universities, increasing each year the number of partners. 200 outgoing students have been sent to various partner universities in Europe. UET has hosted 40 incoming students, out of which 6 were PhD candidates who conducted research at UET. 150 outgoing staff, both academic and administrative, have taught or have been trained at partner universities. UET has been the hosting university of 70 incoming staff from EU universities who have conducted research/teaching activity. UET has a project portfolio with over 70 projects, with an active number of 30 projects mainly funded by the European Commission, with a higher number of 20 active Erasmus + KA2 projects.

Why we are Participating in the Project

UET is actively involved in the implementation of the VALEU-X CBHE Project, both as a beneficiary Partner country institution as well as a local coordinator. The VALEU-X project aims to add a significant value to the teaching process in Albania by empowering academic staff with contemporary teaching ompetencies. UET as a leading higher education institution in Albania is highly interested in continuously improving its teaching and learning processes.
Additionally, this project will be a chance for the UET’s community of the academic and administrative staff to explore, implement, and disseminate Internationalisation at Home practices to increase their students’ and staff exposure to a European and international academic, economic, and societal context.

Our Role in the Project

UET is the local coordinator and Partner country beneficiary institution, responsible for the WP1 – Preparation tasks and activities as well as facilitation of the overall grant management. The successful implementation of the following tasks will be leaded by UET:

  • T1.1. Setting up and moderating an experts forum on innovative virtual teaching and learning.
  • T1.2. Conducting desk research on Virtual Mobility and international exchange.
  • T1.3. Scheduling and conducting interviews with Albanian practitioners and experts.
  • T1.4. Benchmarking Albanian case against international state of the art.
  • T1.5. Conducting empirical research studies on the potential and impact of proposed intervention.
